From Dream to Reality: How INJOY Was Born
Growing up, whenever someone asked, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” my answer was always: “A mom.”
It’s funny now to look back, but that dream never wavered. From a young age, I was always drawn to caregiving. I can still vividly remember volunteering at a school event when I was in kindergarten—holding a baby on my hip in the classroom with the pet gerbils (how could I forget that?). Even then, something about being needed, nurturing, and helping just felt like home.
After high school, I skipped the traditional college route and instead went straight onto the mission field, serving communities in Africa for several years. It was there—thousands of miles from home—that I learned the true beauty of community. Many of the families I lived alongside had very little by Western standards. But what they did have was each other. Their joy was contagious, rooted not in stuff, but in support, togetherness, and love.
That experience changed me forever.

Realizing the Gap Moms Face Here at Home
Every time I came back to Nashville during my time abroad, I would find myself naturally jumping in to help local moms—preparing meals, helping with kids, tackling household tasks. And then, in my mid-twenties, I became a mom myself.
As I stepped into motherhood, I started hearing the same tired refrains from the women around me:
"I'm so tired.""I can't do it all.""My house is a mess.""The laundry never ends."
And it hit me—Here in the U.S., where we have so many material resources, what we're often missing is community.
We weren’t meant to mother alone. We weren’t built to manage everything by ourselves. And trying to do so isn’t just exhausting—it robs us of the joy that’s supposed to come with raising our families.
I realized the casual help I was offering a few moms here and there wasn’t a random side job...It was a real need.
And it was everywhere.

The Front Stoop Moment That Changed Everything
I’ll never forget it—sitting on my front stoop one summer afternoon with my two-year old by my side, overwhelmed with ideas and a tug on my heart I couldn’t ignore.
That’s where God planted the seed for INJOY.
The name came easily: I wanted moms to be able to live in joy again.
So I did what anyone would do in 2017, and posted about my services in a local buy-sell-trade Facebook group and within days, I had more demand than I could handle. Moms were desperate for reliable, trustworthy help—someone who understood what life inside a busy household really looked like, and who could lighten their load without adding new stress.
That’s exactly what INJOY was built to provide.
So, I convinced a friend to quit her job and become INJOY's first employee! Together, we managed 9 clients and the rest is history.

Why INJOY Is Different
Today, INJOY has helped dozens of moms hire the household support they need—whether through Full-Service Hiring (personalized, proactive recruiting support for moms across the U.S.), INJOY Assistants (a little extra hands-on help for local Nashville families), or our DIY Hiring Guide (for moms who want to tackle it themselves—but the right way).
When you work with INJOY, you’re not just finding help—you’re hiring household support the right way. Every candidate I place is thoroughly vetted, trained in best practices, and carefully matched to fit your family’s needs.
Because INJOY was born from a bigger dream—helping as many moms as possible build real, lasting support systems that restore their time, lighten their mental load, and make motherhood joyful again.
Here’s what sets INJOY apart:
Personalized support: Every role is custom-built around your household’s real needs and rhythm.
Hands-on vetting: I personally screen, reference-check, background-check, and prepare every candidate placed.
Home management expertise: After 20+ years working inside busy family homes, I know what makes support sustainable—and what leads to burnout.
