Meet The Founder

Hi, I’m Tessa — founder of INJOY and mom of two. If you want to know how a dream God placed on my heart as a little girl became INJOY, keep reading.
 

From as early as I can remember, I was the kid with a baby on my hip. While other kids dreamed of being doctors or teachers, I dreamed of being a mom.
 

After high school, I served as a Christian missionary, traveling the world and witnessing the beauty of community in everyday life. Those experiences taught me that joy isn’t found in possessions — it’s found in doing life together.
 

Years later, when I became a mom myself (dream unlocked), I realized how isolated motherhood can feel here in America. We live within four walls, carrying the pressure of doing it all alone. One day, after overhearing a group of exhausted moms, it hit me — the part-time work I’d always done between mission trips, helping women around the house, was the very thing that brought joy and community to ordinary life abroad.
 

So I made a Facebook post offering help around the house and within 24 hours, over 50 people responded. I called up a friend, convinced her to quit her job, and together we served the first eight INJOY families who I still keep in touch with today!
 

As for the name INJOY — that was God too. Sitting on my front stoop, He dropped the word into my heart as a reminder that we’re meant to experience motherhood in community and in joy.
 

Eight years later, what drives INJOY remains the same. If INJOY brings not just an extra pair of hands but a sense of joy and belonging to a mom’s home, that’s the greatest honor.
 

To think — my wildest dream as a little girl became my life’s work. Only God.
